ABOUT
CARIBBEAN ROOTS. MUSICAL HERITAGE. INTERNATIONAL AMBITION.
FROM CARIBBEAN ROOTS TO THE INTERNATIONAL STAGE
Mongstar is an award-winning Saint Lucian singer, songwriter and electrifying live entertainer whose music embodies the rhythm, energy and spirit of the Caribbean. Blending soca, dancehall, reggae and contemporary crossover influences, he has developed a versatile musical identity defined by infectious rhythms, authentic storytelling, charismatic performances and an instinctive ability to connect with audiences.
FAMILY HERITAGE
BORN INTO MUSIC
Born Marley James in Saint Lucia, he grew up surrounded by musical talent, creativity and the rich cultural traditions of the Caribbean. His father, Ras Bonti, is a celebrated Saint Lucian reggae musician whose artistic influence helped shape Marley’s earliest understanding of music, rhythm, storytelling and performance.
That musical heritage extends throughout the family. His uncles, including Prosper and Ras Africa, have also contributed to the family’s rich musical tradition, while his brothers are accomplished and recognised musicians in their own right, pursuing their artistic careers in different parts of the world.
While he honours the generations of talent that came before him, Mongstar has always been determined to create his own sound, build his own reputation and contribute another chapter to his family’s musical legacy.
THE FULL STORY
THE MONGSTAR JOURNEY
LEGACY
BUILDING HIS OWN CARIBBEAN LEGACY
A defining milestone in Mongstar’s career came in 2013, when he won the All 4 One Caribbean singing competition in Martinique, establishing his credentials on a regional stage and demonstrating his ability to connect with audiences beyond his native Saint Lucia.
Over the years, he has developed an extensive catalogue of original music, including Saint Lucia We Love, Glo Koko, Nationality, Enemies, Push It Back, Home Sick and Caribbean Girl.
His music reflects the vibrancy, humour, celebrations and challenges of Caribbean life, exploring everything from cultural identity and national pride to relationships, personal experiences and everyday emotions. Rather than allowing himself to be defined by a single genre, Mongstar embraces musical versatility as an essential part of his identity.
ON STAGE
AN ENTERTAINER AT HEART
While songwriting and recording form an important part of his artistry, Mongstar’s personality comes fully alive on stage. A charismatic and instinctive entertainer, he understands that a memorable performance is about more than singing a song. It is about creating an experience, reading an audience and building a genuine connection with the people in front of him.
His performances combine powerful energy, humour, audience participation and spontaneous interaction, often transforming a conventional set into a shared celebration.
His philosophy is simple: understand your audience, respond to their energy and never be afraid to explore different musical styles.
2026
A NEW CHAPTER IN THE UNITED KINGDOM
In 2026, Mongstar began an exciting new chapter in his musical journey, expanding his presence within the United Kingdom’s music industry while remaining firmly connected to his Caribbean roots.
On 30 September 2026, he released Stress Free, a Caribbean-inspired single celebrating positivity, personal freedom and the importance of protecting one’s peace. The release was supported by professional music distribution, radio promotion, media interviews, digital campaigns and an official music video.
The single received promotional support through platforms including WAVIQ Radio, Triple Star Radio and the Caribbean Celebrity Show, helping bring his music and personality to new audiences.
LIVE
MAKING HIS MARK ON THE UK STAGE
Alongside his recording activity, Mongstar has been developing a growing presence within the UK’s live music scene. His 2026 performances include appearances at BOXPARK Shoreditch and BOXPARK Croydon, including an opportunity to perform alongside DJ AG, bringing his infectious Caribbean energy to enthusiastic London audiences.
His autumn 2026 programme includes a performance at London Creole on 24 October and participation in the live audition stage of Tour Music Fest on 27 October, with a confirmed BOXPARK Shoreditch headline performance on 11 November.
Together, these milestones represent an increasingly ambitious phase of his musical journey.
COMMUNITY
BUILDING A COMMUNITY THROUGH MUSIC
Beyond recording and performing, Mongstar is passionate about building meaningful relationships with the people who support his music. In September 2026, he launched MONGSTAR LIVE, a digital series bringing audiences closer to his music, personality and creative journey through live performances, conversations and direct interaction.
Alongside radio interviews, behind-the-scenes studio content and social media engagement, the series offers fans an opportunity to experience the artist beyond the stage.
For Mongstar, music has always been about bringing people together, whether through a live concert, a spontaneous performance or a conversation with his followers.
THE ROAD AHEAD
THE JOURNEY CONTINUES
As Mongstar continues to develop new music, explore fresh creative collaborations and establish his presence within the international music industry, his ambitions remain firmly rooted in the values that shaped his beginnings.
From the influence of his father Ras Bonti and the remarkable musicians within his family to his own award-winning career and growing UK presence, Mongstar represents both the continuation of a Caribbean musical legacy and the emergence of an artist determined to take that legacy to new audiences.
He is proud of where he comes from, passionate about what he creates and excited about where his music will take him next.
